ASP AND BOOST MOBILE SIGN EXCLUSIVE MOBILE TELECOMMUNICATIONS DEAL

The Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP), the governing body of professional surfing and Boost Mobile®, a lifestyle-based telecommunications brand that develops and distributes wireless communications products for the youth market, today announced a three-year global exclusive strategic partnership.

Under the deal, Boost Mobile will become the exclusive mobile telecommunications sponsor and mobile content partner for the Foster’s ASP Men’s World Tour, the premier competition circuit for professional surfing that determines pro surfing’s annual world champion.

Boost Mobile now has the exclusive, global rights to develop and offer wireless content from the 12-event Foster’s ASP Men’s World Tour.

In addition to its own customer base, presently more than 2.6 million subscribers, Boost Mobile will be exploring delivering the mobile content internationally via licensing with other mobile carriers outside the U.S.

Content to be made available from the Foster’s ASP Men’s World Tour will include scoring updates, wallpapers, photographs and videos.

Boost Mobile will also be utilizing a number of its marketing assets, advertising and customer communications to promote the ASP and the WCT events, and in particular the event webcasts.

“The Boost Mobile Pro has been a part of the Foster’s ASP Men’s World Tour for over four years, and Boost has supported surfing and sponsored surfers since the brand inception,” said Mark Fewell, Senior Director of business development for Boost Mobile.

“This deal takes our strategic relationship to the next level, and we will be working closely with the ASP to deliver the unique and exciting content from surfing’s top tour to mobile devices around the world, with the aim of delivering benefits to ASP and the event licensees, and for the enjoyment of consumers.”

“This deal extends our long standing relationship with Boost Mobile as an event licensee, and will enable the ASP to commercialize its assets in the wireless space for the benefit of ASP and its top tour event owners,” said Brodie Carr, chief executive officer, ASP.

“The success of putting the world’s best surfers on the world’s best waves is paying off for the ASP and we have seen the interest in the ASP and Foster’s Men’s World Tour grow year on year,” said Carr. “Partnering with Boost in this lucrative multi-year deal allows ASP to leverage off Boost and push the exposure of surfing to the youth demographic worldwide. The ASP has enjoyed the partnering in the Boost Mobile Pro at Trestles and is looking forward to stepping up the relationship another level.”

The Boost Mobile Pro, now in its fifth year, is the only Foster’s ASP Men’s World Tour event on the US Mainland, and will be held at Lower Trestles California in September 2006. The winner of the event in 2005 was the 2005 World Champion Kelly Slater.
