Iceland Park Project - surf/snow/skate
Vi har modtaget en melding fra et svedigt koncept som er smidt op på Island; surf/snow/skate-camps i forår og sommer i det nordøstligste hjørne af Island som de kalder Iceland Park Project.
The Nikita Iceland Park Project has again had a successful spring session. The unique park in a remote corner of Iceland has become an annual mecca for boarders, and indeed surfers who take to the local ocean after the snow.
There were a variety of obstacles this year including the 16m fun box and the biggest hip to date, the wall ride was back as ever, the addition of two new boxes, the six metre flat for practicing rail moves and the monstrous up-flat-down box which kept everyone amused for hours.
The first week was dominated by the British freestyle skiers. Week two turned out to be the busiest week at the camp ever, with a record number of guests, Thew final week (three) saw a couple of days of bad weather (the only bad weather for the whole duration of the Camp). It was actually welcomed to give everyone a chance to have a lie in and get back some of the energy that has been put out.
The plus side of the bad weather was that it builds up the swell so surfing was on and the waves were three to four feet and clean on the beach breaks which was perfect for everyone.

Vi forsøger om vi kan lave en riders.dk-tur derop til foråret. Det ville være svedigt med en kombi-tur med vand og sne.
