Kenneth Danielsen Vinder Supremesurf Big Days!

The Danish windsurfer Kenneth Danielsen wins the “Supremesurf Big Days”. In a thrilling final against the German waverider Klaas Voget he showed the more radical moves, including a Taka a high one-handed back loop.
Vinderne: Øverst Kenneth Danielsen, 2. Klaas Voget, 3. Lars Gobisch, 4. Phillip Köster
45 participants had gathered at the beach of Neu Mukran on the island of Rügen to crown the king of waves at the German Baltic coast. Some big names had registered including names as Klaas Voget, the Gobisch brothers, Matze Bade from Kiel or Philip Köster, who extra came for this event from Gran Canaria. “I am really happy to be back here,” said the winner of the last Big Days event, “but why does it have to be always so damn cold here!” But as soon as Philip was out on the water it looked like he forgot about the cold temperatures and he was the only one in the top 4 windsurfing barefoot.

With jumps up to the second floor it was once again Lars Gobisch, who secured himself a place on the Big Days podium and got third.
During the final the wind increased again and the waves were up to 3 meters high. A spectacular setting for Kenneth Danielsen and Klaas Voget. Both presented a thrilling performance, but in the end it was Kenneth, who did the cleaner and better moves. Klaas felt pressure and went for a Double Loop in the last seconds of the heat, but could not land this one properly. “It was almost 10 hours of travelling from Klitmöller to here, but it really had paid off. A great contest. I’m super happy that I have won! “

Because the Big Days did not take place in the fall 2009 due to lack of wind, it was worth to wait until now. “This contest format is simply the ultimate in windsurfing,” said Hans Jensen of Supremesurf, “it showed once again that windsurfing can be incredibly spectacular, if one waits for the right conditions. It’s great that so many people have moved in concert to allow the event and in the end we were rewarded with these great conditions! “
