King of the Bay
King of the Bay is about to begin.
We skipped the registration last night as there was an amazing dinner we had to go to and so the guys registered today. Not only the dinner was nice but also the welcome ceremony the turkey gave us last night.
Amazing how mellow this place is, everything goes hand in hand and we guess that this guys here never heard something about stress. We were supposed to have the registration last evening but after everyone had a relaxed day on the beach we skipped this one and went to a place that was reserved for the EFPT, the BABA. Probably one of the fanciest restaurants we’ve ever been to and as the organizers are doing the best to give us great time, they arranged a bus, we were brought there and back and no one would have imagined that a fancy place like this could be so affordable… Everyone enjoyed the amazing food and it seemed that it wouldn’t end. The boys had a hard time to finish everything so we could get to the opening ceremony. This took place in the "SHAKA BAR" which already seems to be the EFPT headquarter here.
The night set up was completed by a DJ which was supported by guy playing a trumpet and again the mood was on the best level. The whole bunch was chilling and when the Organizer took the boys on stage to introduce them it seemed like this would be again in a night without end. But all went pretty easy and after a few drinks and first "contacts" with the local sailors and their "sisters" the boys started to go to sleep. It seems like Rhodes took a lot of energy out of them and they had to recharge their batteries a bit.
At the registration this morning (again in the SHAKA) all riders showed up and we are happy to welcome some old and also new friends in this competition.
You will find a lot of well known names in the elimination ladder as well as some youngsters which we hope will continue doing the tour.
By the moment the forecast looks promising and so we wait for the first start.
The ASPC (Alacati Surf Paradise Center) provides us with everything needed and the waiting period is easy to handle in a place like this.
