Snowboard - NOKIA world cup
Seasons 2nd Parallel Giant Slalom / Limone Piemonte’s debut as World Cup host
After a contest break of seven weeks, the alpine boarders are shuffling their hard boots as the carving crack’s third appearance will take place on December 8th, 2007, after two races so far in October.
The second Parallel Giant Slalom of this winter also marks another premiere within the 2007/2008 NOKIA Snowboard FIS World Cup: For the first time ever, Italian Limone Piemonte is hosting a competition which is part of the hunt for World Cup points.
The world’s elite is ready to race down the slope on highest level. No wonder that almost every big name is starting in Italy.
Ladies’ World Cup leader Heidi Neururer (AUT, 1.600 points) will try to extend her lead against the lurking competition consisting of her room mate Marion Kreiner (1.180), Nicolien Sauerbreij (NED, 1.200) and Amelie Kober (GER, 1.130) who won this season’s parallel opener.
In addition, there are some other well-known opponents like Fraenzi Maegert-Kohli (SUI), Russia’s Ekatarina Tudigescheva and Svetlana Boldikova as well as Doresia Krings (AUT), Alexa Loo (CAN) and Italian locals Corinna Boccacini and Carmen Ranigler.
